SUMMARY:Rakshya Khatiwada (Fermilab) "Hunting for Dark matter using quantum devices and sensors"
DESCRIPTION:Rakshya Khatiwada (Fermilab) \n“Hunting for Dark matter using quantum devices and sensors”\n\n \nAbstract:\n\nVery few mysteries in our current picture of the universe are bigger than the puzzle of dark matter. Recently the QCD axion — a weakly interacting\, sub-eV particle — has been in the limelight as a cold dark matter candidate which also enjoys compelling theoretical motivation as a possible solution to the strong CP problem. This talk will give an overview of modern axion searches with a detailed discussion of the role of quantum devices and technology in the most sensitive axion experiment to date. Furthermore\, it will discuss promising novel methods of axion searches using quantum sensors as single photon counters that could make possible the investigation of axions in previously uncharted mass ranges. \n\n\nhttp://physics.lbl.gov/rpm/index.php/events/\nIf you are looking to confirm if there is an event\, due to room reservation\, please go to RPM website for a list of all scheduled talks.\n\n──────────\nTroy Cortez is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://lbnl.zoom.us/j/91908754680\n\nMeeting ID: 919 0875 4680\nOne tap mobile\n+16699006833\,\,91908754680# US (San Jose)\n+12532158782\,\,91908754680# US (Tacoma)\n\nDial by your location\n+1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose)\n+1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma)\n+1 346 248 7799 US (Houston)\n+1 301 715 8592 US (Germantown)\n+1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago)\n+1 646 558 8656 US (New York)\nMeeting ID: 919 0875 4680\nFind your local number: https://lbnl.zoom.us/u/aba1991Le\n\nJoin by SIP\n91908754680@zoomcrc.com\n\nJoin by H.323\n162.255.37.11 (US West)\n162.255.36.11 (US East)\n115.114.131.7 (India Mumbai)\n115.114.115.7 (India Hyderabad)\n213.19.144.110 (EMEA)\n103.122.166.55 (Australia)\n64.211.144.160 (Brazil)\n69.174.57.160 (Canada)\n207.226.132.110 (Japan)\nMeeting ID: 919 0875 4680\n\n──────────
