Title: Adventures in Neutrino Detection
Abstract: The path from an initial concept of a particle detector to its realization is not always smooth. This seminar presents the development of the Near Detector for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), summarizing the scientific goals, conceptual design, technology development, as well as the recent operation of a large-scale prototype in a beam of antineutrinos. Along the way, I will highlight some of the unexpected turns of events that have made this effort such an adventure.
