James Unwin (UIC) “The Prospect of Nearby Primordial Black Holes”  

Primordial Black Holes are a potential candidate for explaining some, or even all, of the experimentally inferred dark matter abundance. In this talk I will motivate the existence of Primordial Black Holes and discuss their potential role as a dark matter candidate. Notably, for light Primordial Black Holes there could be a large abundance of such objects in the vicinity of the solar system potentially leading to distinct astrophysical signals. Moreover, I will highlight that one can explain gravitational anomalies observed in small bodies with orbits beyond Neptune, which have been taken to be indicative of a large ninth planet in the outer Solar System, can be explained by a planetary mass Primordial Black Hole which has been gravitationally captured by the Sun.
