Peter Sorensen (LBNL) "How to See Dark Photons: A Status Report on a New Avenue in Direct Detection"

Abstract:
I will discuss the new (old) idea that dark matter may reside in a hidden sector whose interactions with the standard model are mediated by a dark photon. Possibilities for direct detection of such particles will be discussed. This is particularly timely given the recent DOE call for a small scale direct detection experiment that can search new parameter space.
